I created this mad scientist character for an auto-repair shop whose specialty is custom built choppers and hotrods. The brand wanted a dark but playful design that illustrated them as a blend of mechanic and mad scientist. I thought it would be cool to show a frankenstein-ed hotrod on the operating table behind the mad scientist, as he raises his creation up to the lightning. This design was created for direct-to-garment printing.Illustrated by Brian Allen, FlylandDesigns.com#mangastudio #scientist #illustration #tshirt #art #instaart #instaartist #science #igdaily #followme Work in progress from the desk of illustrator Brian Allen

Description:
Stylized illustration of a bucket utility truck for a power company’s brand of apparel I created in Manga Studio. This was fun to take on a subject matter that I don’t deal with much, and practice drawing vehicles for a bit. I find it tricky inking vehicles because every line has to be right – and it’s tricky to not slip into drawing something that looks too rigid. The client was happy with the final result, which was set up for full-color printing on t-shirts.

Description:
I created this mascot character for the internet securtiy firm Talos, of a cyborg cyber-crime-fighter. The brand approached me with the task of designing a character that would be used on their website and other marketing materials. We went through a few sketches in the beginning, exploring different options, and eventually arrived at the idea of having a realistic looking, futuristic cyborg, projecting the

Description:
This is a book cover I created for a series of fantasy/horror novels featuring a the strong female lead Allison Hewitt. She goes on adventures slaying zombies with her trusty hatchet. The cover was really fun to work on, because the author loved my style and wanted the cover to have a pop art/ serial horror magazine look.
I designed and illustrated this angry gargoyle busting out of its stone skin for a line of ATV and sled wraps put out by 393 Components. It was a challenge to position everything and design it in a way to make the design look interesting on as many different vehicle types and shapes as possible. I kept all the elements in layers so that the design could be modified if necessary to fit different wraps. I needed to make it look as different as possible from a previous gargoyle design I had done, so I came up with the idea of having the gargoyle a green-skinned creature bursting from stone, as if it was coming to life.It was really cool to be working with graphic decals again for ATVs, because my first full-time position as an artist was at a custom decal shop called XGX Racing. This design is available for licensing for uses other than vehcicle graphics – message me if interested Work in progress from the desk of illustrator Brian Allen
A children’s book I illustrated about Zombies won an award from New Apple! I’m really proud of this book – it’s probably the only children’s book I’ve ever done where I could really put my style down onto the page and not have to filter it. The book is called Moore Zombies, by Wendy Knuth, check it out!

I was hired to design this angel and devil logo for apparel and a vehicle wrap for the russefeiring tradition. If you haven’t heard of it, basically russefeiring involves an entire class of Norwegian students renting a bus (a Russebuss), painting every inch of it with really cool street art, and then partying in it night and day for an entire month during graduation. The different classes wear their designs ever where they go as they clash with rival classes. I’ve done a bunch of these now, and really enjoy it. Okay – this probably is going to get me in trouble. This is a detail shot of a logo design I worked on for another Russ team last year. If this offends you, remember that I just draw what people tell me, and I deny all resposibility. I might have forgot to share this from last year – Lemonade Agency put together this nice portfolio book and sent me a copy. Because fo the magic of alphabetical order, I am once again in the front of the book. Never fails!
Wanted to share this – one of the highlights for me last year was having my artwork published in the Showcase 100 book, which featured artwork from 99 amazing artists, and me! And by the divine powers of alphabetically order, I'm on the first page! Always works great (except when I was in gym class and always had to go first).Illustrated by Brian Allen, FlylandDesigns.com#mangastudio #showcase100 #littlechimpsociety #tshirt #art #instaart #instaartist #picoftheday #igdaily #followme Work in progress from the desk of illustrator Brian Allen

Logo design I created for a Russebuss theme in Norway, as part of the Russefeiring tradition. Basically, this involves a month-long high school graduation party, where an entire class will rent or buy a buss, and spend every night traveling and partying. The classes decorate the busses by having every inch painted, and everyone in the class wears logos that fit their theme, for when they clash with rival classes. This design was meant to be a parody of the classic jungle book characters, as if they were thugs.Illustrated by Brian Allen, FlylandDesigns.com#mangastudio #russ #parody #funny #junglebook #illustration #tshirt #art #instaart #instaartist #picoftheday #igdaily #followme Work in progress from the desk of illustrator Brian Allen
