Description:
I was hired by a fabric pot manufacturer for growing plants to create a t-shirt for their conventions. They wanted something that displayed their product in a way that people would want to wear, even if they weren’t familiar with the product. Naturally, I went with a skull. The design was set up for limited color silk-screen (I believe 4 colors). They were kind enough to send me a shirt, and it turned out great!

Silk-screen design of a skeleton hand holding a rose I designed for a t-shirt. This is about as much of my feminine side as you’ll ever see! Created for a fitness brand of apparel to be sold at their gyms and front their website.

Character mascot design I created of Zeus wielding a lightning bolt.
This is a fun album cover illustration I created for a hard rock band called the Jokers for their new album, Hurricane. The idea was to have the band in a classic-looking car flying through the air to their next gig, and causing a hurricane behind them, destroying London below them. The band needed the album art in a really short amount of time, but we pulled it off in time, and they were quite happy with the result.Illustrated by Brian Allen, FlylandDesigns.com#mangastudio #albumcover #illustration #tshirt #art #instaart #instaartist #picoftheday #london #followme Work in progress from the desk of illustrator Brian Allen

Description:
The band Hang The Jester hired me to create this detailed illustration of an evil jester made of a skull and horns for their latest album cover. The band asked me to create something with a very liited color scheme, and a lot of pen and ink detail. Unlike many of my other designs which are often 100% digital, I drew and inked this design on paper with technical pens and a brush.

Lochness Monster – Justin Shaner
Description:
Silk-screen poster illustration of a happy Loch Ness Monster I created for the band Lochness Monster. I had a blast working on this. The band gave me a ton of freedom on this design, and I came up with the idea of having the Loch Ness Monster looking friendly, with a severed arm dangling from its mouth, and the collected trophy/cameras of tourists hung around his neck. He’s an elusive fella! The design was set up for silk-screening using around 5 colors, created primarily for promotional posters and apparel for the band.
Client Testimonial:
They look awesome!! Thanks, really great job on this!!

T-Shirt illustration I created of a mutated Chem Dawg with three heads for a marijuana-themed apparel line. Each shirt in the collection celebrates a different strain. The client wanted me to illustrate a big crazy mutated, and glowing dog standing in a spilled container of toxic waste. I thought it would be funny to have each of the three heads to be a different dog breed with a different personality. More to come in this series! This design was created for direct-to-garment silk-screening.
Logo design I created of an evil pac-man for an arcade’s logo design and branding. The client wanted something identifiable to the retro gaming crowd, while putting a hard and extreme edge on the style. I thought it would be fun to turn the lovable yellow disc into a rabid, coin-munching psychopath.Illustrated by Brian Allen, FlylandDesigns.com#arcade #pacman #mangastudio #photoshop #illustration #tshirt #art #instaart #instaartist #picoftheday #igdaily #followme Work in progress from the desk of illustrator Brian Allen

T-Shirt illustration I created for a marijuana-themed apparel line. Each shirt in the collection celebrates a different strain. This was the first design, called “Sour Diesel,” in which we depicted a bunch of Sour Patch Kids hi-jacking a big diesel truck. I had the idea of putting a melted sour patch kid on the grill of the truck. More to come in this series!

Blowfish Vapes
Description:
Logo design I illustrated of a punk rock blowfish for a vaping brand called Blowfish Competition Vape. When we started, the only concept we had was the name “Blowfish Vapes,” so I experimented with a few different styles of blowfish, including one that was a salty pirate. We like the concept of making the blowfish a punk rocker with a mohawk and piercings, including a big hook through his lip. I tried to use a color palette with high contrast so it would stand out when it’s printed on the small label that goes on a vaping label.

A series of character concept turn-arounds I illustrated for a series of vinyl zombie figurines that will be manufactured and sold in a catalog. This isn’t the first time I’ve created turn-arounds for figurines, but it’s the first zombie series. I can’t wait to see how the final molded and painted models turn out. To make this as efficient as possible, I first sent sketches to the client for just the front view. Once approved, I used a 3D model in Manga Studio, positioned it close to the position of the front view, and then turned it to the side and back. I then drew the other angles using that model as reference. Pretty effective little trick!

This is a detailed series of illustrations I created for a children’s book teaching kids about construction. Each double-page spread was packed with animal characters, vehicles, tools, and activities. The book challenges kids to hunt out objects and solve problems within the illustration, so I had to draw everything in a way that certain elements were intentionally hard to find. I had a lot of fun with this, because I had a lot of freedom to design the characters and draw them in my style. Work in progress from the desk of illustrator Brian Allen
