Inktober Day 4: Skeleton Goofy! I've been tasked to make t-shirts for a big group of family and friends who are going to Disney World next month, so I thought I'd hit two birds with one brick (is that cheating?) and shoehorn it into Inktober. I was hired last year to create some character concept art for a revamp of Scholastic's math game for kids called Sushi Monster – unfortunately, due to a gypsy curse on my family, the whole project was cancelled before we could really get into it because the art director left the company. My brother Keith is a super-talented pop-up engineer working at American Greetings – he's created this incredible pop-up book completely by himself by waking up at 5AM every morning before the rest of the fam gets up. Which of my art styles do you think is better? I often switch between a line-art driven comic book style, and a digital painting style depending on the project. The line-art style is more familiar to me, and I think it's easier to convey a strong identifiable style in the artwork. But the digital painting style can come across as more realistic, and is often what clients in the darker genre are looking for.Which of these is a stronger piece?
