Mooch Clothing
Description:
Crowd of zombies I illustrated coming out of the legendary CBGB club for Mooch Clothing.
Had a great time creating the different punk characters. Would a mohawk really stay intact on the undead? I like to think so. Illustrated in Manga Studio 5, and separated for limited color silk-screen.

I was hired to create this digital painting of a skeleton ripping through the front of a shirt.
This was a very challenging piece for me, as it’s a departure from my usual lineart style, but I’m happy with how it turned out. The design should hopefully be available in retail outlets like Hot

Inktober day 5 – Thanks for the HUGE responsw to my lost yesterday!! Today was pretty crazy, so I only had time to draw something pretty quick – hoping to put more time into tomorrow's ink sketch.#inktober #ink #sketch #brush #blackandwhite #art #instaartist #brianallen New Artwork From Instagram
Inktober Day 4: Skeleton Goofy! I've been tasked to make t-shirts for a big group of family and friends who are going to Disney World next month, so I thought I'd hit two birds with one brick (is that cheating?) and shoehorn it into Inktober. Going to do two more characters as skeletons, and hopefully print them on black hoodies in glow in the dark ink.#inktober #goofy #pentel #skeleton #ink #sketch #brush #blackandwhite #art #instaartist #brianallen New Artwork From Instagram

I got to test my zombie crafting skills on this parody of the Notorious BIG for a hip-hop apparel line.
Always a fun challenge to try to capture someone’s likeness – before ripping their face away in decay! We set up the design for limited color silk-screen.

Who's doing #Inktober with me this year? You have to create a new piece of artwork every day using any ink producing tool like a pen, brush, or octopus. Really looking forward to doing it this year. The News Junkie
Description:
T-Shirt illustration of a giant woman attacking a bunch of army guys in this parody t-shirt for The News Junkie website.
The design was set up with special sun-activated color-changing ink, so that the colors only appear when out doors. Really cool effect. I gave this a halftone retro coloring treatment to try to emulate classic horror/fantasy magazines.

This was a steampunk character design concept I worked on for Bogard Press – used in their educational book series and other marketing materials. Thomas Good
Description:
A fantasy author hired me to create this book cover illustration of his characters for his youth fantasy series of the Green Knight.
I love the challenge of designing characters from just a brief outline of a story. The client asked me to create this in a softer pencil and digital painting style which is pretty different from my line-art driven style. Real happy with how this turned out.

I was hired last year to create some character concept art for a revamp of Scholastic's math game for kids called Sushi Monster – unfortunately, due to a gypsy curse on my family, the whole project was cancelled before we could really get into it because the art director left the company. Which of my art styles do you think is better? I often switch between a line-art driven comic book style, and a digital painting style depending on the project. The line-art style is more familiar to me, and I think it's easier to convey a strong identifiable style in the artwork. But the digital painting style can come across as more realistic, and is often what clients in the darker genre are looking for.Which of these is a stronger piece? Thanks for your help!#digitalpainting #art #zombie #trooper #outlaw

Bongjour
Description:
I illustrated this t-shirt design for Bongjour in conjunction with the popular Chief Greenbud to celebrate his song “It’s 4:20 Somewhere,” a parody of Jimmy Buffet’s tune. The design was printed as full-color direct to garment. For this design, I tried a new technique: instead of inking the design, I just scanned in my pencil drawing (which was done on paper) and colored the piece underneath the pencils. I’m pretty happy with the result – it gives it a more realistic, and vibrant, and softer feel.
