We came up with this chimp wearing a flannel and cap holding a spray can. I illustrated lots of hip urban animals in the background as they burst out of the zoo. Hang Lucy’s, a large tiki bar in Grand Bend, Canada, hired me to create a series of murals, t-shirts, and logo designs for them. The murals and t-shirts featured loads of mermaids, Poseidon, tiki totems, flying sea turtles, and surfing parrots. For the logo design, we created a hula girl character serving a tray of tropical drinks, making the “hang loose” sign with her hand. The murals were printed on vinyl, and wrapped on huge ten foot shipping containers that were turned into tiki bars.
