I’m going to be participating in #InkTober this year, which is an artist challenge started by Jake Parker where we have to draw and post a new ink drawing (traditional, no digital!) every day of the month of October.
I’m really excited about it, because I really need to force myself to spend more time drawing just for me (no offense, Mr. Client).

Here is my first entry for InkTober. I drew this surly tribal guy with a big bone in his nose with a Pentel brush pen and gray copic marker.
Day 2 of #InkTober! So here’s a pen and ink sketch of Man-Worm (or Worm-Man, still deciding).
I wish I had a clever artistic reasoning to explain why this image exists, but I’ve got nothing. Thanks for all the love on my first sketch – I’m really excited about this – I haven’t been this motivated to create my own stuff in a while.
Third day of #InkTober! I’m really enjoying forcing myself to just have some quick sketching fun on paper again – I need to make this part of my daily routine when October is over. I came up with this idea of alien bug serving sushi. Genius? Ridiculous? Perhaps we’ll never know.
Day 4 of the #Inktober challenge! I drew up this vampire catching a tan on a moonlit beach, sucking back on a Bloody Mary with a Pentel Pocket Brush pen. Looks like this is my entry for the #Drawlloween challenge as well!
Day 5 of #Inktober! This is a little throwback to a clown face I used to draw a lot when i didn’t know what else to draw. I did a painting of it too a long time ago, which was quite terrible.
Day 7 of #Inktober is here! Curse of the Coppertone Mummy! This is the most fun I’ve had drawing a mummy butt in years.
#Inktober Day 8! Building sandcastles with my favorite zombie was always something I enjoyed as a kid.
It’s the 9th of #Inktober! I was trying to do a little something different, inspired by the mech ink drawings of Jake Parker, the artist that started this whole nonsence.
And on the 10th day of #Inktober – Not sure what happened here, just sketching a blob alien with the robot equivalent of skinny jeans.
#Inktober 11th! I’m happy to say that I haven’t missed a day yet. Today’s theme is giant monsters brushing their teeth with trees. Here’s what I came up with.

#Inktober 14th’s drawing seems to be a bit inspired by John Kricfalusi (Ren and Stimpy) – such an amazing artist.
For day 13 of #Inktober, I drew this fat little creature. Why do all the characters I draw have horrible teeth?
This drawing I did for #Inktober Day 15 shows another one of my early sources of inspiration – Todd McFarlane from Spawn. This wasn’t meant to look like the Violator character when I started drawing, but it turned out that way. Pro Drawing Tip: If your character isn’t looking great, stick a cigar in his mouth. Problem solved
Day 16 of #Inktober is here, and I still haven’t missed a day. Though I’ve had to spend less time on some of these than I had wanted. Today’s drawing is an angry fish.
Happy #Inktober and #Drawlloween ! This is a drawing of one of the most feared and mysterious #demons in the darkest depths of the underworld. His friends call him Frank.
Day 18 of #Inktober and #Drawlloween – My brain wasn’t working today, so I decided to draw my go-to idea when I’m out of ideas: the tiki #mask.
#Inktober 19 is here, and so am I. I drew up this buck-toothed vampire inspired by Nosferatu with a Pentel pocket brush pen.
For #inktober 20th, I wanted to draw something completely different, so I sketched out this tough bionic superhero chick. I’m ready do discuss movie rights.
For Day 21 of #Inktober , I came up with this adorable little creature serving up sushi. Makes sense to me. Drawn with a Pentel Brush pen.
For day 23 of the #Inktober challenge, I drew this ink drawing of a bookish squid monster. I’m not sure why, but this is one of my favorites for the whole month.
It’s Day 26 of the #Inktober challenge, and it’s time of a big angry screaming flaming head. Long overdue I think.
On the 27th Day of #Inktober , my pen brush brought to me, some kind of weird naked creature with bad teeth and misshapen head.
Just a couple days away from the end of the #Inktoberchallenge, and it looks like I’m going to make it (and not miss a day). Here’s a nice drawing of a guy who looks like Abe Lincoln for absolutely no reason at all.

Happy Hallow’s Eve Eve! Here’s a smiley goblin ink drawing for day 30 of #inktober – When I find myself with little time to work on one of these sketches, I often draw them on smaller paper (this one is about 2.5″ tall) to keep me from getting too bogged down and work more efficiently. Definitely a great exercise.
