The heavy metal band Crimshaw commissioned me to illustrate each member of the band as classic movie monsters based on their personalities for their new album.
It’s always such a fun challenge to draw the likenesses of people I’ve never met, just based on a few photographs. Luckily, turning them into savage creatures masks any errors.

Description:
I was lucky to work with Violet Beuachamp, a super gifted instrumental guitarist on a t-shirt for her newest album Black Widow.
We took imagery from her latest music video, which featured a classic 1950’s hearse, and clock tower. We only had a few colors to work with, so it was a challenge to draw so many different subjects in the same composition without relying on full color.
Description:
Insane werewolf creature wrecking havoc in the oval office – Not a political statement, just something I drew last year for the band Neverdawn for their new album cover.
This is easily one of my favorite album covers I’ve ever been apart of. So much fun. A throwback to the massive detail and destruction in the album covers I was raised on by Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and the like.

Tommy’s got a really great retro 80s hair metal vibe that I tried to capture here with the artwork.Proving once again that the zombie craze will never die.Just like a zombie.

How to digitally ink in Manga Studio 5 – Horror movie monsters and heavy metal character designs.
I illustrated this dark detailed illustration of an epic battle between Freddy, Leatherface, Nosferatu, The Excorsist, Frankenstein, Kirk Hammet, Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Corey Taylor, and more for a documentary on the history of Metal and Horror.
I was hired by Producer Mike Schiff of M.A.S. Productions to create an illustration of some of the most iconic figures in horror and heavy metal engaging in an epic battle. The image was used to promote a documentary they produced which explores the history of heavy metal music, horror films, and how the two genres have merged together over time.
The documentary features interviews with Alice Cooper, Kirk Hammett, Corey Taylor, plus a ton of other heavy metal stars, along with huge names in the horror industry. It was so great getting the chance to illustrate these iconic figures, including Freddy, Leatherface, Nosferatu, Ozzy, Alice Cooper, Kirk Hammet, and more. Pieces of the illustration were also used for an animation promoting the documentary.

Album cover I illustrated for the Brazilian heavy metal band John Wayne (named after John Wayne Gacy – not the other guy). It was a great pleasure working on this with the band, as they gave me a lot of freedom, and I set upon the design without much planning, and tried to let it flow. This album cover is the first in a set of two albums, that when placed together will form one cohesive image. This album represents the dark side, while the following album will have a similar design, but mirrored, and “lighter.”

This is a very detailed illustrated album cover I created for the heavy metal band called DemonHead. The idea was to have a troubled kid rolling a 12-sided die that causes catastrophe behind him. With each roll bring a different type of destruction. I tried to have fun with it and cram in as much chaos as I could.

Album cover I created for the progressive metal band Valence for their upcoming album, “Laser Baron.” The band created a story about a scientist who inadvertently opens a wormhole and disrupts the world as we know it. My job was to create an illustration that followed the theme, and stylistically complimented the music. Check out the album, I highly recommend it.
T-Shirt zombie illustration I created for the Mexico City heavy metal band, Straying From Madness.
The illustration was designed to fit their current brand image I designed, which is based on creepy but colorful and fun zombie characters. This design was set up for silk-screening. Four colors.
I’m SO proud to be sharing this. I’ve been working with the metal band Straying From Madness for a while on a music video for their new single, about the band fighting for their lives in a zombie apocalypse. I illustrated all the characters, zombies, and backgrounds, and then a very talented video artist put it all together.
It was an immensely challenging and rewarding project, and I’m thrilled with ho it turned out. We working on a very tight deadline and budget restraints, so I elected to illustrate it in a very rough style, which is very different for me. Typically, I like to draw things first as a rough sketch, then a pencil sketch, then ink and color. This gives me a chance to work out the anatomy and details as I go to make sure they are correct. With this project, I skipped the middle step and just went for it, and colored in a very limited color scheme to save time. I think in the end, that choice actually added a lot of character to the video. It is after all, the Apocalypse.
Special thanks to Larz and the rest of the band at Straying From Madness. They are fantastic to work with, and I wish them nothing but ridiculous Rock Star success.

This album cover for the hardcore metal band, Killing For Christ, was a fun challenge. The client wanted to illustrate what it might look like if all the world’s religions duked it out. We were careful to keep the illustration dark, but still humorous, so it’s obvous that this is a tongue-in-cheek rendition of the apocalypse (throwing in a few cultural icons like Kermit and Fozzy the Bear helped with that, I think). Of course, it’s not true heavy metal if no one gets at least slightly offended!
