Listenable Records
Description:
This illustration I created for Listenable Records Hellfest album cover is a tribute to the iconic Judas Priest album cover of a mechanical eagle swooping down from the sky.
It was hard to improve on such a masterpiece, so I just tried to reinvent the eagle in my own style, with a little more modern technology.

It’s a fun challenge designing for such a small space (only a couple inches) – so I try to use bold colors and lines so you can really get a feel for the detail, and distinguish each flavor from the next.

Description:
Fun colorful illustration inspired by classic science fiction films and stories. A heroic astronaut fights space aliens and robots with a bikini wearing alien girl beside him. The design was for apparel and a vehicle wrap for the russefeiring tradition. If you haven’t heard of it, basically russefeiring involves an entire class of Norwegian students renting a bus (a Russebuss), painting every inch of it with really cool street art, and then partying in it night and day for an entire month during graduation. The different classes wear their designs ever where they go as they clash with rival classes. I’ve done a bunch of these now, and really enjoy it.

Cyborg Leprechaun fire-fighter I created for a St. Patrick’s day t-shirt template I illustrated for fire departments and t-shirt shops to license to celebrate their Irish Pride!
I try to design one of these each year, and I had a lot of fun with this one, trying to approach it differently by making the Leprechaun into a cyborg. From the future? Only time will tell.

Young-adult fantasy book cover I illustrated for author Charon Dunn, illustrating a scene from the book where a school is attacked, and the main characters and mech-suited police officer react in horror.

Always a pleasure working with my friends at Listenable Records. For this year’s sampler featuring the labels best tracks, we chose to pay tribute to the classic Defenders of the Faith album cover from Judas Priest. I thought it would be cool to draw a samurai in the same art style and color scheme as that record, and really give it a nice retro theme, with bright primary colors. Really dig the way this came out – might make a great sticker.
Client Testimonial:
I love it, colours are perfect , there’s a vintage feel too in the logo and overall colours, it’s great!

Half-Time Brewing
Description:
I created this illustration for a brew suit for Half Time Brewing Company’s Growlers. A Brew Suit is a kind of a thermal case that zips up over a Growler to keep it cool.
This design was created to give the Growler a futuristic, mechanical look. I incorporated Half Time’s logo and signature red and gold color scheme wherever I could.

Description:
Custom silk-screen illustration I created of a happy robot made of brewing equipment for Half Time Brewing Company’s 2014 Growler design.
It’s always a lot of fun working with Half Time. This project in particular was a fun challenge, and different than other beer label designs I’ve done, because the design is going to be silk-screened directly on the bottle, so I had to be careful to keep my colors limited, and to make sure that my details were not too fine. Half Time gave me a lot of freedom with the design, and we are both very happy with how it turned out.

Rosebud Magazine
Description:
Editorial commissioned by Rosebud Magazine. This custom illustration appeared in the magazine as a full page, accompanying an article about hydroponic tubing. The editors gave me a lot of freedom with the design. There only direction was that they wanted a robot made of tubing attacking a city. Looking forward to working with them again soon.
