I drew this artwork for a series of official Tony Hawk skateboards designed for a younger audience. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I love drawing Tiki characters, so I jumped all over this beach theme.

A private collector commissioned me to paint this one-of-a-kind tiki totem skateboard deck in acrylic on wood.
I designed the different tiki heads digitally in Clip Studio Paint, and then transferred the sketch to the board using carbon paper. Using acrylics, I blocked in the colors and began adding highlights and shadows. Then, when all the colors were added (which was the most time consuming part of the process), I painted the line work with a brush and black ink. The client was so much fun to work with – he wanted the entire thing to be a surprise, so he never saw any sketches or progress shots. I don’t do a lot of traditional painting, so I was unsure how it would turn out, but I’m very happy with it.
This wrap design I created using my tiki artwork won first place in a vehicle wrap competition 360 Carshow!
Diamond wraps did a hell of a great job printing this on vinyl and wrapping their beautiful truck in the design. They even customized an amazing bamboo truck bed that looks just beautiful. Using their photos and measurements, I created a template of the vehicle, and carefully designed the text and artwork layout to fill the unique shape of this low-rider truck. So proud to have won first place!
Client Testimonial:
Thanks again, Brian. I’ve been following you for a long time and have wanted to get this done through you forever, so it’s definitely and honor to have you be a part of this project.
Logo for a gaming company called Tiki Tantrum I created of a tiki chief holding a shrunken head.
This job was perfect for me, since I love drawing tiki art so much. The client really dug the style of another tiki character I had created, so I tried my best to expand on that and make it the best one I’ve done so far. The logo is being used as the intro screen on several games and apps developed but he company.
Client Testimonial:
I’m absolutely in love with it. Consider it a job well done!

I was hired to create this logo for the outdoor sports outfitter, H20 Sports Zone, of a tiki chief riding a paddle board on the ocean.
I love working with tiki characters and making them do fun things – paddle-boarding has become hugely popular, so it was fun to draw him doing that. The logo was created both in color and black and white so that it would be useable in many different applications.

Trippy psychedelic and colorful illustration of an evil tiki mask with mushrooms growing out of his brain and visions of faraway places swirling in the background. The design was for apparel and a vehicle wrap for the russefeiring tradition. If you haven’t heard of it, basically russefeiring involves an entire class of Norwegian students renting a bus (a Russebuss), painting every inch of it with really cool street art, and then partying in it night and day for an entire month during graduation. The different classes wear their designs ever where they go as they clash with rival classes. I’ve done a bunch of these now, and really enjoy it.

Fun limited color silkscreen t-shirt I created for a Shrimp Gumbo festival in Alabama featuring a handsome shrimp serenading a beautiful shrimps and the rest of the beach-goers.
The design was a fun challenge because the client liked my colorful full-color beach designs, and wanted something similar. But we could only use a limited silk-screen palette. I used halftones to cheat on some colors. We chose to draw the scene at night to make it unique to the previous year’s designs.
I illustrated this t-shirt design for Bongjour in conjunction with the popular Chief Greenbud to celebrate his song “It’s 4:20 Somewhere,” a parody of Jimmy Buffet’s tune. The design was printed as full-color direct to garment. For this design, I tried a new technique: instead of inking the design, I just scanned in my pencil drawing (which was done on paper) and colored the piece underneath the pencils. I’m pretty happy with the result – it gives it a more realistic, and vibrant, and softer feel.

This is a fun illustration I created of a tiki man riding a dirtbike for the brand Accidental Broadcast. The brand centers around a popular Youtube personality, Kalani Prince, who films the island of Hawaii from the back of his dirtbike.
Kalani gave me a lot of freedom with the design. Since this was the brand’s first design, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce his personality as this Tiki character, with an attractive hula girl hanging tight.
I also designed the a logo to match the design for his brand.
T-Shirt illustration I designed for a restaurant called Big Kahuna Cafe in conjunction with Local T-Shirts. I had a lot of fun with this design – a acgreat theme to be working with during the summer months. The design was created for Direct To Garment printing, so we could really go all out with the colors.
